Named "Strange Duo" in French, we embrace the unusual combination of our instruments to redefine vocal chamber music.

Duo Étrange is an ensemble co-founded in 2023 by soprano Vanessa Croome and cellist Sahara von Hattenberger, dedicated to the creation and performance of new works for voice and cello. Through commissions and collaborations with living composers, we explore the raw expressive range of two of music's most human instruments.
